Ted Neufeld...Vocals/Drums/Guitar

Ted was raised in Whatcom County and has been playing
music most of his life. He started playing drums at age
fifteen and played in several successful local bands. He
formed Punch , Gibralter and Goldenrod, touring the
western part of the US and Canada.
After helping to form the Rocky Vasalino Show in 1978, he
toured with them until they retired from the road in 1984. He
continued with music in the following years, including
learning to play guitar in Murphy's Law. When the Rocky
Vasalino Show reunited in 2006, Ted was ready to fill the
roles he once performed; sharing drum duties with brother
Jim, playing rhythm guitar, singing some lead vocals, and
donning costumes to bring The Unknown Elvis and Animal
to life.
Jim Neufeld...Bass Vocals/Drums

Jim grew up in Whatcom County and started playing drums
at age fifteen.
By age sixteen he had formed his first band,
playing parties and high school dances. At nineteen he
joined a popular band Charlie and the Seniors and hit the
road as a full time musician. In 1978 he helped create the
Rocky Vasalino Show. Besides playing the drums, he sings
lead vocals in front and specializes in singing the bass
harmonies for the band. When the Rocky Vasalino Show
retired in 1984, he joined the highly successful local band
The Wanderers and played with them until 1998. He was
happy to take his place as an original member when the
Rocky Vasalino Show reunited in 2006.

Rick Bjelland...Saxophone/Vocals

Rick was born in Seattle and was strongly influenced by
the sound of the fifties an
d sixties. His first rock and roll
band was in 1963. He moved to Bellingham in 1974 and
joined the Rocky  Vasalino show in 1976 as our first sax
player.
He left the road in 1979 to start a family. He played locally
with bands like Legacy, a popular Skagit County band in
the nineties.
He rejoined our group in 2009, 30 years later!
Welcome back Rick!
Jim Carrington...Vocals/Bass Guitar

Jim grew up in rural Missouri near the Platte River and
moved to Tacoma, WA in 1960 where he got his first
guitar at age 13 and began singing in the school choir.
He went off to college in Bellingham in 1971 where his
love of music blossomed and he joined his first band
in 1976.
Jim has played in many bands ranging from classic
rock with the Heatseekers to country with   The Greg
Pitch Band.  Most recently Jim has played R&B with
The Barnicles.
Jim joined "The Rocky  Vasalino Show" in 1981, and
soon began doing many of the background vocal
parts. He also fine-tuned the introductions to "Animal"
and " The Bacon Fat". Jim's favorite part of any show
has to be the  a cappella  and the four-part harmonies.

Gary Smith.... Vocals/ Guitars

Gary was born in British Columbia in 1956. He came to
Bellingham in 1960. He started playing violin in grade
school but "couldn't stand the squawking".
He played a little string bass and sousaphone in the
marching band before picking up the guitar. Gary joined
his first band in middle school.
He has played with many bands since 1972, American
Band, Blue Frost, the Peter Daring Band, then came the
Rocky Vasalino Show, The Clients, Murphy's Law, The
Bottom Line and Ten Feet Thick.
Always growling and understated, Gary's guitar work has
been an integral part of each group's sound. He is still
performing with The Rocky Vasalino Show, Ten Feet
Thick and the Bellingham High School Alumni Band.
His feature moment in the Rocky Vasalino Show is his
tribute to Buddy Holly, complete with dinner jacket and
thick black glasses. He really lets go on songs like
Johnny B. Goode, and his harmonies are a huge part of
the Rocky Vasalino Sound.

Bob (Rocky) Baker...Vocals/Keyboards

Bob was born in 1948 in Wenatchee, WA. After starting
piano lessons in the fifth grade, by junior high he'd
discovered rock and roll and it was all downhill from
there.
His first band was the Intruders, playing mostly
instrumentals.
After college, he started playing with a friend from a high
school band back in Wenatchee. Moving to Ellensburg,
he joined Appaloosa, touring around Washington, Idaho
and Montana for several years. When Appaloosa broke
up, Tom McCann, the guitar player, went to Alaska to join
Rocky and the Asteroids, the beginnings of the Rocky
Vasalino Show.
On their way to Hawaii, he called Bob to offer him the job
of keyboardist. Easy decision!
Bob soon took over the front man role of Rocky, a Vegas
style band leader, working the audience up close and
mostly unrehearsed.
He's always been a natural ham and was voted "class
clown" in high school (to the great pride of his mom!)
His finest moment is playing straight man for everyone's
favorite, Animal. His greatest joy is meeting all the great
fans, old and new.
